Deltaville Yachting Center and Chesapeake Yacht Sales were proud sponsors of this fun weekend for cruisers to network.

On October 18th and 19th, the first Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous was held for 80+ boaters from several states and Canadian provinces. Friday’s wine and appetizers at Botega Café, near the city docks, was a chance for power boaters and sailors to meet and mix. Live music, great snacks, door prizes and libation made for a good time. Lew and Onna Grimm, owners of Deltaville Yachting Center, were there to congratulate the winners of their door prize donation. The owners of ‘Summer Wind’ were the lucky winners of DYC Free Haul, Wash, Block and Relaunch. We look forward to seeing them in the Spring!

Saturday was a day of cruising seminars led by boaters who have ‘headed south’ successfully and were willing to share their knowledge. Breakfast and lunch were supplied by event sponsors. Over 40% of those attending were heading south for the first time this winter, so it was a beneficial exchange of emails, contacts, ways to ‘snowbird’ better and money saving ideas.

Saturday ended with a lovely dinner/dance held at the Hampton Yacht Club. Cori and Chet Williams attended(although Chet says he drew the line at actually dancing…), representing Deltaville Yachting Center and Cheseapeake Yacht Sales.

Watch for the 2014 Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous to be even bigger and better.
