As we look forward to the Fall boating season on the Chesapeake Bay, we say good-bye to a wonderful Summer. We are keeping our eyes on all tropical storms as we prepare to go to Annapolis for the U.S. Sailboat Show (Oct. 4-8) and the U.S. Powerboat Show (Oct. 11 – 14). We will be greeting and showing the newest Catalinas on the Catalina Dock just behind the Naval Academy. Once again Lew and I will be at the Catalina Welcome Counter. CYS brokers, Carl Hawkins and Bob Arnett will be onboard the new Catalinas to show you these great boats. I look forward to talking to boaters from all over the world, but the sweetest visits are with our long time friends. We have owned DYC & CYS for 12 years and have worked both Annapolis Boatshows all of those years. This year Catalina will have all four of the Catalina 5 Series sailboats in the water for folks to check out. The Catalina 315 (taking the place of Catalina 309) is the newest baby for Frank Butler, Catalina Yachts Owner/President. There will be a Catalina Owners Party on Saturday night following the Annapolis Sailboat Show to christen the 315. After 40+ years of designing quality, robustly built sailboats, Mr. Butler still takes pride and joy in each new model. Also in the water will be the Catalina 355 (see the beauty we have in stock at CYS!), Catalina 385 and the Catalina 445. On land you will be able to see the Catalina 22 Sport and the Catalina 14 daysailer. We are waiting to hear from Mr. David Marlow, the new owner of Mainship Trawlers about what kind of presence Mainship will have at the Annapolis Powerboat Show. We did just hear that a large shipment of Mainship equipment and molds safely arrived at the Florida plant! So, as you can tell Annapolis is on my mind….while Deltaville is in my heart!
