The boat was purchased in October 2000 from an Agent in Chichester, moved to Northern Ireland and named Genesis of Drumbuoy. The boat was commissioned and entered on the UK Ships registry in April 2001. The owner was reported to have sailed to the Canary islands on several occasions - approximately 2000nm each way.
In 2010 the boat was purchased by a couple in Scotland and renamed Genesis of Argyll. The boat was used for cruising around the west coast of Scotland, until purchased by the present owners in 2020. The intention being to use the boat for ocean cruising and a transatlantic passage. At this time the boat was extensively refit with all new instruments, generator, wind turbine, solar panels and LithiumFePO4 batteries.
Having crossed the Atlantic and cruised the Caribbean, Bahamas and East Coast of the USA the owners have decided to sell the boat and return to the UK. They fully intend to keep sailing but not on a full-time basis, but rather on a more modest boat for occasional cruising around the west coast of Scotland where they live with their family.
