We were so happy with the annual visit from our Chesapeake Mainship Group friends. Their rendezvous cruise included Deltaville Yachting Center as a stop. It was great to have them come from Maryland, Delaware and the Northern Neck of Virginia to enjoy the waters of the Rappahannock River. Here is a group that really loves boating!
Two years ago when the Chesapeake Mainship Group visited, it included the sad day when the Deltaville Maritime Museum burned. So, this year they were excited to tour the new grounds of the Holly Point Nature Park and see the outside of the newly finished Deltaville Maritime Museum buildings.
Since the John Barber Exhibit of Original Art had not initiated the opening of the museum, some of the Chesapeake Mainship Group also returned the following week to view the exhibit and the inside of the new museum.
Lew and I were honored to sponsor a small lunch in the Deltaville Yachting Center seminar room. Jerry Friedman, Commodore of the Chesapeake Mainship Group, presented us with new coffee mugs which will remind us of the fun visit. The group spent an hour with Lew Grimm, DYC Service Manager, discussing service related questions.
One of the joys of marina ownership is meeting new friends and maintaining ‘old’ ones….oops…did I say ‘old’:)

Thanks for making Deltaville Yachting Center part of your 2014 rendezvous cruise and thank you for your generous gift to the Deltaville Maritime Museum in our honor!
