Boating & Tourism=Jobs in Middlesex County Virginia.
If you are a boater who loves the waters around Middlesex County OR if you are a person whose life is affected by the boaters in Middlesex County, I am asking you to attend the April 21st, 7 pm Public Hearing in Saluda, Va.
If boaters buy coffee and sandwiches at your café, attend your church, dock their boat at your facility, shop in your hardware store, buy presents in your gift shop, support your charity, shop at your yard sale, have an account at your bank, participate in your community events or come to you for marine parts and service…then you need to let the Middlesex Board of Supervisors know that your lifestyle depends on boating and tourism in Middlesex County.
If you are a boater whose 2nd home is the boat you keep in Middlesex, your main relaxation occurs as you enter our county, whose family memories revolve around time at the River, whose adventures on the Bay begin from a Middlesex dock, whose idea of a great meal is fresh crabs and oysters, and who loves the smell of the water as you approach it…..then you need to let the Middlesex Board of Supervisors know that your lifestyle depends on boating.
Attend the April 21st, Board of Supervisors’ Public Hearing about the 2017 Middlesex Budget and Possible reduction in personal property tax on boats kept in Middlesex County. The meeting will be held upstairs in the Old Courthouse in Saluda, Va. beginning at 7 pm.
At Deltaville Yachting Center, we love boats and boaters. Our employees jobs depend on these boats and boaters.
We are asking the Middlesex Board of Supervisors to vote in support of the proposal of Pinetop District BOS, Chip Holt to reduce the property tax on boats over 5 tons to .53/$100 assessed value and boats under 5 tons to .93/$100 assessed value. Hartfield District BOS, Bob LeBoeuf, also supports this proposal. This proposal is a start toward elimination of the boat tax and will allow for a balanced budget. This proposal provides incentive for boaters to remain in beautiful Middlesex County.
I hope to see you in Saluda on April 21st at 7 pm to hear presentations concerning Middlesex County’s 2017 budget & boat tax proposals.
Please help us keep jobs in Middlesex County. Support a cut in boat tax.
Thank you. Onna Grimm
