It is always sad to say good bye, even if it is just for the winter…..

Deltaville Yachting Center enjoys sponsoring the Hampton Snowbird Rendezvous each October.  This year the event was sold out and hosted speakers, great food, door prizes and cruiser networking for four days.

Lew and Onna Grimm, owners of Deltaville Yachting Center enjoyed seeing many of our cruising boaters.  Carl and Duanne Hawkins, (Carl is a CYS yacht broker) also attended….perhaps with hopes of future southern cruising…..

Lew Grimm spoke on “Self Fails”.  Lew called on all cruisers to be resourceful and self reliant.  However,he cautioned that do it yourself service which can be necessary when cruising is great, but common mistakes can cost, not save, money.  As Lew reviewed a power point with great ‘real life’ pictures, he showed examples of ‘self fix service fails’ that can be avoided.  The ‘show & tell’ items afterwards was well received as boaters could pickup and look over items used as examples.  Follow up questions were answered so all could benefit from others experience.

If you are interested in knowing more about cruising south for the winter, even if it will not be for a few years, we suggest you visit www.hamptonrendezvous.com and mark your calendars for next October!

Plan on meeting great folks with both power and sail boats and making long time cruising friends.
